Priyanka is an Indian actress, singer, film producer, and the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant. Priyanka initially wanted to study engineering (beauty and brains) but went to work in the Indian film industry.
Chopra is not only a renowned actress, but she is also a philanthropist—and has worked with UNICEF since 2006. Her foundation,The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education works to support unprivileged children across the country. Ten percent of her earnings go to the foundation operations and pays for medical and education expenses for over seventy children in India. Time magazine listed her as 100 most influence people in the world. She promotes social causes such as environment, health, education, and women's rights; and is vocal about gender equality and feminism.
In 2018, Priyanka married Nick Jonas, anAmerican musician and actor. During their engagement celebration in India,Priyanka and Jonas visited St. Catherine’s Orphanage in Mumbai, where they sangto the children with impromptu performances. Priyanka is a true inspiration towomen of color everywhere-- along with her career in movies, she has continuedto launch humanitarian causes to better countries around the world.
A natural beauty, full of grace and wit--it is refreshing to see Mrs. Jonas as an Indian actress that did not succumb to the peer pressure of skin lightening and has stayed true to herself.
